What is a ManaBloc System?

Wayne, our Lead Service Technician Explains ManaBloc Systems:

The easiest way to explain a ManaBloc System is to compare it to an electrical breaker box. You know how a breaker box has switches for different parts of your home electrical system? In the same way, a ManaBloc has individual valves for every plumbing fixture in your home. Just like a breaker box, you can “switch” the water to your plumbing fixtures on or off. ManaBlocs are sometimes compared to a central subway station for a home’s plumbing.

A home’s ManaBloc is usually installed somewhere easy to access, like a garage. It comes with its own key which can be used to turn valves on or off to each individual plumbing fixture. Your home’s plumber will label each valve so you know which fixture it controls. A main water shutoff valve located below the ManaBloc also allows all water to be shut off inside the home.

PEX and ManaBloc

From each valve on the ManaBloc, a PEX line is run to each individual plumbing fixture. PEX pipes are made from polyethylene. They are pliable and have a smaller diameter than traditional copper pipes. This flexibility and smaller size allows the individual connections necessary for ManaBloc systems.

PEX pipes have many advantages over traditional copper or galvanized pipes. To start, they are more affordable. The narrower size of PEX pipes also reduces water usage, saving you money in the long run, without sacrificing water pressure. PEX pipes are more resistant to freezing and can withstand a wider range of temperatures without bursting due to their flexibility. They are also much more resistant to corrosion and scale buildup than copper and galvanized pipes.

Advantages of ManaBloc Systems

The primary advantage of ManaBloc systems is that you can shut off the water to individual fixtures without shutting down all the water in your house. This means if one particular faucet is leaking, you can quickly and easily shut down its water line while keeping the rest of your plumbing working.

Because ManaBloc systems are clearly labeled and centrally located, it’s also easier to find each plumbing fixture’s shutoff. In plumbing emergencies, many homeowners find themselves scrambling to figure out where the proper water shut off valve is located. ManaBloc systems give you peace of mind in case of any urgent plumbing needs. You can prevent water damage to your home by ensuring any leaks are shut off quickly prior to calling a Niceville plumber like Tru Plumbing and Gas.
